SMART PUMPTM Technology. Fluval FX5 Smart PumpTM Technology is the key to providing optimal filter performance. This self-priming system offers plug-in-and-start convenience. Smart PumpTM employs an electronic circuit board to continually monitor the pump. Impeller speed and force are constantly measured to ensure powerful output and energy efficiency. Smart PumpTM Technology also manages the FX5 self-starting feature and evacuates air that may enter or build up within the filtration system. On a 24-hour cycle, the pump will pause and allow trapped air to escape, ensuring ultimate filtration efficiency at all times. |

AquaStopTM Valves
Unique Click-Fit technology allows for fast setup and
leak-proof maintenance. Hosing can be separated from
the filter in one step. The valves rotate and are at 55º
angles for easy positioning. They can be used to regulate
water flow with no harm to the motor or its components. |
Purge Valve
The valve allows for partial discharge of debris without
needing to move the unit, open the filter lid or
disconnect hosing. The canister is flushed out quickly
and efficiently. |
