These agile dogs require weekly brushing. The Australian Shepherd's
medium-length, double-coat should be groomed with a slicker brush first to remove any
dead hair, and then with steel pin or bristle brush to help remove loose hair and
reduce shedding. To finish off, a grooming comb should also be used.
