Dogs such as the DOBERMAN PINSCHER, GREYHOUND and
ROTTWEILER which have short, smooth hair are often classified as "smooth-
coated" breeds. Weekly brushing, using a rubber or bristle brush, is all that's
needed to remove dead hair and maintain a lustrous, healthy appearance. For
smooth, short-haired, double-coated breeds such as the LABRADOR
RETRIEVER, it's a good idea to use a slicker or pin brush in addition to the
bristle or rubber brush.
