Unplug filter.
Close input valve first - then output valve - This should trap water in the input hose assembly. The output hose can be empty.
Loosen hose connectors under both valves and remove hose from filter.
If hoses become dirty or clogged, remove from tank and clean with Fluval Hose Cleaner Brush. Otherwise, it is not necessary to remove hose installation.

Reassemble modules and replace in canister. Do any required impeller care
Position filter seal ring, close and clip case.
Relocate filter, connect hose connectors.
RESTARTING THE FLUVAL
Open the OUT Valve First
Then open the IN valve. If the valve is below the aquarium water level, water should begin to siphon from the filled input tube and exhaust air through the OUT hoses.
If water does not flow immediately, remove the hose from the spray bar and blow excess air out of filter case and intake tube. When siphoning starts, reassemble exhaust to hose. Connect power and ensure all is working correctly.
