Is the Laguna System really installed in minutes?
Yes, really! Each major item – the pump, filters, steriliser and light set comes complete. With Laguna’s unique "click Fit" coupling all the hose connections are fast and positive.

The fountain looks so lovely, is it expensive to buy?
Not at all. The PowerJET pump already includes 2 fountain jets, a traditional two/three step jet and a waterbell jet. In addition you can purchase a foaming jet – brilliant for adding aeration, for a surprisingly low price.

I’d like to operate the fountain and waterfall every day through the summer, won’t that play havoc with my electricity bill?
Power consumption is miserly. For example, you could run the PowerJET 3000 pump and this would compare with the energy consumption of a 60 Watt light bulb.

I’d love to have a pond but I have young children and I’m worried for their safety.
You are right to be concerned and you do need to think very carefully about the dangers before you commit yourself to a pond project. If you’re determined to have a water feature the safest option is a "bubble" fountain where water is pumped from an underground tank covered with pebbles at the surface. A foaming jet creates a very attractive display as the water trickles through the stones back into the tank.

How do I determine how big my pond is?
Rectangular and Square pools:
Length x Width x Average Depth = Volume

Round Pools:
0.785 x (Top diameter x Bottom Diameter x Depth) = Volume

Conversions:
Liters: Multiply cubic meters (m³) x 1000 to obtain liters.
U.S. Gallons: Multiply cubic feet (ft³) x 7.5 to obtain U.S. Gallons.
Imperial Gallons: Multiply cubic feet (ft³) x 6.23 to obtain Imperial Gallons.

How do I work out what size pump to get?
No two ponds are the same size – so it can be quite a confusing matter choosing the right pump. Refer to the selection guide to get started.

Will I get crystal clear water right away?
Not at first. You have to let nature take its course, which could be up to two years. New ponds become cloudy and develop algae within days. Achieving the right balance of light and plants helps, but you have to be patient. If you want guaranteed clear water install a PowerFLO External Filter in tandem with a PowerCLEAR U.V. Steriliser.

What maintenance do I need to do to the pump?
The bare minimum. Just keep the pump strainer clean and free of debris and clean the impeller once a month. An underwater filter will help to reduce maintenance even further.

How do I hide the cable in my garden?
Every PowerJET pump comes with 10 meters of cable. Simply run it under the turf or flower beds enclosed in a rigid conduit to protect it from over zealous gardening! It’s a good idea to run it against a wall or fence where you’re unlikely to dig too deep.

Can I put lighting round my fountain?
Yes! The Laguna PowerGLO Light set is simple to install and complete with a ballast unit to ensure the lights sit on the bottom of the pond. They are adjustable through the full 360^o degree rotation. An optional set of interchangeable colored lenses allow you to change the picture whenever you like.
