  1. MOTOR UNIT: Hermetically sealed and filled with epoxy, the motor unit requires no lubrication or other maintenance. It produces a powerful, continuous output stream whilst being extremely energy efficient.
    1. EXHAUST OUTLET: Positioned at the top of the filter to allow maximum circulation and aeration. IN FLUVAL 2, 3 and 4, the directional flow that can be adjusted by moving the central exhaust outlet from side to side.
    2. OUTPUT STEM ADAPTER: Adapts extension hose to filter output for remote return.
  3. FLOW CONTROL: Located on the top of the FLUVAL 3 and 4 only. Regulates the water flow rate.
  4. IMPELLER: Self-Cleaning feature keeps debris from collecting in the impeller well.
  5. IMPELLER COVER: Allows easy visual checks of the impeller.
  6. PUMP STRAINER PLATE: Strainer prevents debris from entering impeller well cavity.
  7. EXTERNAL CLAMP: Allows the motor unit to be fastened securely to most manufactured aquarium frames. Also provides adjustable vertical positions.
  8. INTERNAL SUCKER ATTACHMENT: Permits custom installation at deeper levels where it is not desirable or possible to clamp filter to rim. The filter slides into the bracket for easy removal and replacement without disturbing the suction cup placement.
  9. FILTER CASE: Contains foam insert for FLUVAL 1. With the FLUVAL 2, 3, and 4 units the filter case also holds the inner case.
  10. INNER CASE: Contains foam insert in FLUVAL 2, 3, and 4 units.
  11. FOAM INSERT: Effectively removes dirt and suspended debris. Also allows establishment of beneficial nitrifying bacteria to promote biological filtration.
  12. FILTER CORE: Found in FLUVAL 2, 3 and 4 units only. The chambered design allows for partial media changes. The water flows through each filter chamber before it is expelled.
