The above table is based on an average community set up with approximately 1 inch of fish per gallon. If there are more or larger fish increase the FLUVAL unit by 1. As an example, hungry goldfish in a 3ft. aquarium may mean that the set up should include a FLUVAL 4 to be sure of adequate filtration.
