The Airedale Terrier has a stiff, wiry, close-lying outer coat and a shorter, softer undercoat. Both coats are dense and relatively easy to groom. A steel pin brush and grooming comb are the recommend grooming tools to use on this breeds rough water resistant coat. Dead hair should be removed regularly using fingers or a comb. The skin should be checked during these grooming sessions, since the Airedale terrier can develop eczema. Also, inspect the paws for excessive hair growth between the pads and clip with scissors if necessary. |
